Google Panda Audit

The Google Panda audit looks at the quality of the content on your website in line with the Google Panda algorithm. Although the Google Panda algorithm itself is now thought to have been absorbed into Google’s main algorithm, this makes the audit increasingly important as the quality of your on-site content can now make all the difference when it comes to your search engine rankings, traffic, and ultimately your conversions and revenues.

At Bough Digital, we’ve spent hours looking at the various Google Panda audit factors, and have created an incisive audit that will tell you exactly where the strengths and the weaknesses in your content lie. If a Google algorithm update has hit your site and you believe it to be content related, get in touch with Bough Digital now. Not only will we conduct your Google Panda audit, we’ll give you a great list of action points and discuss potential content marketing projects for the future, too.

What is Google Panda?

The Google Panda algorithm was first launched in February 2011. The stated aim of the algorithm was to reduce the ranking of “thin” or “low quality” websites, and Google produced a now famous list of 23 bullet points that aimed to put webmasters in the “Google mind-set.” Google Panda was a controversial development, not because of the aims of the algorithm, but because many webmasters reported duplicates of their own content on websites earning higher search rankings than their own site. Google are continually adopting their algorithm to be able to better identify the original source of content, and have introduced a scraper report tool so webmasters can report when their own content has been stolen.

What Will the Audit Cover?

In addition to scoring your website against Google’s own guidelines, our Google Panda audit covers a large number of other areas critical to your website performance, including:

  • User metrics
  • Website indexing
  • External links
  • Duplicate content on-site
  • Advertising prominence
